One of the most common usage scenario of Desiccant Air Dryers is their utility as regenerative and twin tower drying apparatus, and to add to its utility, they can also be utilized for adsorption purposes. Consisting of filter media that is generally a desiccated surface material like activated alumina, silica gel or a molecular sieve of polymers, adsorption is the method which is utilized by them to segregate the water molecules from the compressed air. The water molecules clinging to the surface of adsorbent media are purged by blowing them off through a blast of air, after which the desiccant vessel can be regenerated by a number of methods, the most commonly used method being heat-less pressure swing drying.
